"The 2024 UFI Marketing Award," organized by The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), is now open to applications!

The UFI Marketing Award is organized by UFI to promote the development of the global exhibition industry, share marketing knowledge, and promote outstanding cases. The application is open to all companies from the exhibition industry (organisers, venues, service providers, associations), whether they are UFI members or not. Application to UFI Awards is free of charge.


The theme of this year’s UFI Marketing Awards is: “Data-Driven Revenue – The Secret Ingredient for Venues and Event Organizers”. The finalists and winners will be promoted on www.ufi.org and will gain significant press coverage in major international tradeshow publications, including UFI Info. In addition, the

winner will receive one complimentary registration to join the UFI Global Congress 2024, where they will present their winning entry.


The deadline for application is March 13, 2024.

Participants must submit 4 pages (maximum) of entry information in English, including company name, background introduction, general objectives, detailed description, results achieved, and conclusion, etc. The application should be submitted directly to marketingaward@ufi.org.

Lighting Up Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Green Museumbrary

The 2024 Central Taiwan Lantern Festival will kick off at Taichung Central Park on February 16. In celebration of the Lantern Festival, Director Chen Da-Tian of the Taichung City Government's Construction Bureau will illuminate the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Green Museumbrary. The unique appearance of these two buildings will be clearly visible both during the day and at night. As visitors play sports, take walks, or admire the lanterns at Central Park, they can also take in the view of the future landmark of Taichung from afar, take photos, and share them with friends and family.Director Chen explained that the spotlights on the eaves of the exhibition hall at the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center accentuate the architectural roof trusses and skyline. From the 76-meter-tall giant dragon main lantern area, visitors can admire the beauty of the exhibition center's magic carpet roof at night. As for the Green Museumbrary, the museum lobby adjacent to the park and the interior lights of the glass curtain wall at the administrative building facing Zhongke Road will also be illuminated, presenting visual transparency and the elegant artistic ambiance of the architecture.According to the Construction Bureau, the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center will be able to house 2,360 exhibition booths and a large international conference hall with 2,200 seats. International exhibitions and conferences held at the exhibition center will drive the development of the software, science, and industrial parks in central Taiwan. This will attract domestic and foreign companies to settle there, contributing to Taichung City Government's vision of "Prosperous Taichung, Wonderful Life". On the other hand, the Green Museumbrary, in addition to its distinctive architectural appearance, features the design principles of "innovation, people-oriented, and sharing". The museum and library both adopted co-constructed architecture, integrating various spaces within the buildings to stimulate visitor curiosity for knowledge exploration. The two buildings are independent yet interconnected in terms of shared resources. 20th Taiwan International Orchid Show and 23rd World Orchid Conference Kick Off in Tainan on February 24

The 20th Taiwan International Orchid Show and the 23rd World Orchid Conference will take place concurrently from February 24 to March 10 at the Taiwan Orchid Technology Park (formerly the Taiwan Orchid Biotechnology Park) under the Agricultural Technology Park Administration Center, Ministry of Agriculture and International Convention Center Tainan. This marks the first time that the two major orchid events will be held at the same time in Tainan. Coupled with the Taiwan Lantern Festival held during the same period, the city welcomes all visitors to Tainan to appreciate orchids during the day and lanterns at night.Huang Wei-Che expressed that this year's Orchid Show is a combination of two of the world's three major orchid events, marking a historic milestone in the Taiwan International Orchid Show's chronicle. Machine Tool Show Foresees Opportunities Worth 47 Billion An estimated 3,000 foreign buyers coming to Taiwan

Taiwan International Machine Tool Show, an important indicator of the machinery industry's economic health, will take place from March 27 for five consecutive days at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. This year, over 600 exhibitors will participate in 3,350 booths. The organizer, the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA), estimates business opportunities will be worth US$1.5 billion (approximately NT$47 billion).According to industry insiders, this year’s show will feature three highlights. First, a focus on digital transformation and green transformation in alignment with industry development trends. Second, for the first time, a dedicated area for Universal Machine Technology Interface (UMATI) has been introduced, simultaneously connecting 20 companies and 40 machines. Third, with the resumption of international travel for business, it is estimated that there will be 3,000 foreign buyers from 30 countries attending the exhibition in Taiwan.In collaboration with the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW) and the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), TMBA is introducing an UMATI Section for the first time. In the future, machinery and equipment are expected to become comprehensively smart. With Internet connectivity, machinery and equipment can be monitored, operated, and interconnected remotely.UMATI represents the universal specification of Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC UA) for machinery and equipment. The goal is to establish a global standard that allows various devices from different industries to connect on the same platform. This simplifies and speeds up data transmission between machine tools, 3D printers, and product management systems.Of the over 3,000 foreign buyers anticipated, TMBA estimates they will come from 30 countries for the show. These countries include Japan, Germany, Turkey, South Korea, Canada, India, South Africa, Sweden, Brazil, Indonesia, and others. Additionally, countries such as Malaysia, the Philippines, and India are planning to organize buyer groups, and the number of overseas visitors making appointments for visits continues to increase.
