The 18th East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars (EAFONS) will be taking place at the National Taiwan University Hospital International Convention Center on February 5th and 6th (2015). Aside from inviting international scholars to conduct academic exchanges in the field of nursing, it is also an opportunity to promote Taiwan’s research achievements to the international nursing research community.
The East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars is an academic event founded in 1997 with doctoral nursing education as its main body. The Forum aims to strengthen health care and the effectiveness of nursing doctoral education in Asia, and also establish East Asian Nursing Scholars alliances, providing opportunities for academic exchange in the field of healthcare and nursing.
This year, the main topic of EAFONS is "Integrating Sciences and Humanities in Doctoral Nursing Education", whereby the concepts brought up in the international nursing profession, humanities, and technology are integrated, implementing a practice in nursing which combines humanities, science, and healing in order to facilitate the cultivation of professional research and leadership talents with scientific spirit, humanistic values, innovative capabilities, and international outlook.
Dr. Jean Watson of the United States and Dr. Roger Watson of the UK, as well as other prestigious scholars, are invited to deliver keynote speeches and participate in various seminars. In addition to presenting the research results of international scholars, the academic papers published in this year’s forum can stimulate international academic exchange and contribute to the improvement of healthcare and nursing.
