Taiwan is actively constructing international-standard exhibition and convention venues, including the "Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1," "Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1," "Taipei International Convention Center," and the "Kaohsiung Exhibition Center," which officially commenced operations in April 2014. These venues have formed a dual-core for exhibition and convention development in the north and south of Taiwan. The "Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2" opened on March 4, 2019, and combined with Hall 1, it provides approximately 5,000 standard exhibition booths and various functional conference spaces. Additionally, the ICC Tainan, which opened on April 21, 2022, has added 600 standard exhibition booths to the southern region. Furthermore, there are plans for the Taichung International Convention Center and the Taoyuan Convention Center, which are expected to propel Taiwan's exhibition and convention industry into a new era.
Taiwan is renowned for the vibrant development of its 3C (Computers, Communications, and Consumer Electronics) industry and has successfully applied high-end technologies to exhibition and convention activities. These include the use of mobile apps, QR codes, 5G, RFID, free Wi-Fi, and the implementation of virtual and augmented reality-based exhibitions. These advanced and convenient services, coupled with Taiwan's friendly and efficient professional support, leave a lasting impression on international business travelers and exhibition attendees.
Taiwan has been in a global leading position for its research quality in medicine, information technology, and science sectors, plus maintains close interactions with related international associations and societies. This enables Taiwan to be a professional and mature environment for international conferences.
Solid academic foundations have fostered a prolific academic research scene in Taiwan, with strengths in medicine, biotechnology, and information technology, while business and political science institutions undertake countless international exchanges. Taiwan demonstrates its vast capabilities when hosting international conferences. International conventions, meetings, and incentive travel held in Taiwan:

The solid and advanced industry base of Taiwan results in over 80 annual professional exhibitions representing sectors ranging from IT/electronics, machinery, bicycles, automobiles, sports, food, stationery, and giftware, to medicine, healthcare, and others. Many become world known exhibitions such as COMPUTEX Taipei, which ranks number two in the world, and the very popular Taipei Cycle Show. There are more than 20 Taiwan PEOs capable of organizing large professional trade shows and, based on their successful experiences, they can assist customers with opening up global markets and matching ideal business opportunities.
Taiwan is highly regarded for its plentiful professionals and experts, technology, and R&D strength in various sectors, plus the research level of certain academic fields such as IT and medicine are recognized to be higher than its neighbors in Asia. In addition, Taiwan’s IT and communication, optoelectronics, semi-conductor, and bicycle industries are greatly competitive worldwide with comprehensive industrial clusters formed locally for those industries. All these advantages serve as strong support for Taiwan’s developing MICE industry.
With convenient transportation around the island, buyers coming to Taiwan for procurement can visit various industrial clusters by Taiwan high-speed rail within minutes or a few hours. Industry clusters for IT and communication in the north, machine tools, woodworking machines, bicycle, and hand tools clusters in the center, and automobile parts/accessories, plastic processing machines, optoelectronics, yachts, and fasteners in the south are easily and quickly accessible in Taiwan.
Located along the southeast coast of the Asian Continent at the western edge of the Pacific Ocean and right in the center of the East-Asian island arc, Taiwan holds a key position for transport and trade in the Asia-Pacific region. There are international airports in northern, central, and southern Taiwan, while 59 major airlines provide services here. Taiwan offers a convenient connection to the world with a total of 5,000 flights to 115 different cities weekly and including 828 flights to 54 cities in China. Taiwan's mass transportation is even more convenient. Metropolitan rapid transit systems provide great expedience and comfort for two of Taiwan's largest cities, Taipei and Kaohsiung. Travel time from north to south takes only 96 minutes by Taiwan high-speed rail. These make it possible for people coming for short-term business trips to not only complete their business efficiently, it also leaves time for tourism, shopping, and cuisine. Regularly increasing international flights and routes are advantages for those planning MICE activities in Taiwan.
Aside from outstanding MICE facilities, software, and workforce, Taiwan is also rich in tourism resources such as geographic wonders, astonishing natural landscapes, and beautiful coastal scenery. Matched with Taiwanese cuisine, hospitality, and enthusiasm, these all add up as great incentives to international business people for visiting Taiwan for MICE activities.
