The Far Eastern Group's new multi-billion NTD FE International Conference Hall began construction in April 2021. Designed by celebrated architect, Santiago Calatrava, known as the Architecture Poet, the Conference Hall will comprise of three buildings: the Meeting Center, Y. Z. Hsu Memorial Hall, and Arts Center, and will host a variety of academic, social, philanthropic, and technological events. Set to be completed by 2025, the new Conference Hall will be a new landmark of Taiwan's arts and culture.

A grand groundbreaking ceremony was held that featured esteemed guests including MOEA Minister Wang Mei-Hua, Minister of Culture Lee Yong-Te, Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan, and Far Eastern Group Chairman Douglas Hsu—all using ceremonial shovels to symbolize the commencement of construction.

Douglas Hsu stated that seven years ago Taoyuan City became a special municipality, being the youngest of six special municipalities. Taoyuan's population growth and industrial developments have prospered through social welfare policies and infrastructure that better serve people's needs. Looking to the future, the three buildings that will form the FE International Conference Hall are expected to bring new cultural flair and educational experiences to the people of Taoyuan, adding to its already existing foundations. Members of the public can take part in international exhibitions and view arts and cultural performances at the new Conference Hall, contributing to developments and job opportunities in related industries. Additionally, an advanced cultural atmosphere will be available for young and energetic Taoyuan, as well as aspirations for a better tomorrow with an enhanced quality of life. Douglas Hsu hopes that the FE International Conference Hall will be more than just a landmark for Taoyuan, that it will also be an emerging landmark for all of Taiwan.

MOEA Minister Wang Mei-Hua congratulated the building commencement and thanked the Far Eastern Group for building an artistic and contemporary monument for Taiwan. She believes the FE International Conference Hall will revamp Taoyuan's future outlook. Minister of Culture Lee Yong-Te commented, "Although called a conference hall, there will also be a music hall and performance hall. The entire structure will add a new cultural atmosphere to Taoyuan".

Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan stated that he has been actively promoting the municipality's Heart of Neili re-urbanization project since the beginning of his tenure. In addition to an underground railway project, the north Neili military base was made into a large park and the Far Eastern Textile Neili Plant was rennovated. Besides investing billions of NTD in the Conference Hall, Far Eastern Group also plans to build a hospital and a biomedical industry hub. These two projects have been approved by Taoyuan City Government, and the cumulative capital expenditure will reach billions of NTD. In other words, Far Eastern Group has two ongoing multi-billion NTD investment projects in Taoyuan City, which will offer its full support.

The Far Eastern International Conference Hall, to be situated along Yuandong Road in Zhongli, Taoyuan, is a joint construction project of Far Eastern Y. Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation and the Far Eastern Y. Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation. Its planned area encompasses 36,837 square meters (approximately 11,143 pings) with a height of 59,450 square meters (approximately 17,983 pings).
