ICC Tainan grand opening, creating your Metaverse experience

2022/04/20

ICC Tainan has just been completed. To welcome the coming of the metaverse era and create a 5G MICE technology application venue, Aruba’s wireless AP and remote 5G low-latency dedicated network services are integrated into the venue. At the opening ceremony of ICC Tainan on April 21, 2022, a cross-screen interactive module was designed to invite guests to send their blessing messages to ICC Tainan and send them to the large screen on the stage using tablets or mobile devices, which became a new highlight of the cross-screen interactive experience at the opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony included Vice President Lai Ching-te, Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-Hua, Mayor of Tainan Huang Wei-Che, and other officials from the central and local ministries, public representatives, and entrepreneurs, who instantly sent their best wishes to ICC Tainan through the application of 5G technology.

Yeh Tai-Ming, C.E.O. of GIS Group and Chairman of ICC Tainan, led his team through the “Expanding 5G innovative service applications for SMEs” of the Ministry of Economic Affairs to promote the “5G MICE Venue - Innovative Experience Service for MICE Businesses,” focusing on the development of various 5G MICE technology experience service projects with sustainable operation value, and create support for Tainan’s local urban marketing and for small and medium enterprises to develop international trade business opportunities.

In addition, to create a value chain for various exhibitions, conferences, and concerts, we also launched the first MICE metaverse experience system in Taiwan, using technologies such as avatar, LBS (Location-Based Service), bluetooth navigation, gamification map, and VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology for mobile and fixed avatars to create the “ICC Tainan Metaverse App” experience service process.

These technologies are also applied to the “Tainan Automatic Machinery & Intelligent Manufacturing Show” for the first time, allowing online remote visitors to move freely through the gamified exhibition hall and browse each exhibitor’s booth using digital virtual avatars. They can also participate in technical discussions and questions through VOIP calls, creating a sense of immersion in the show and creating an international solution to the pandemic problem of foreign exhibitors and visitors not being able to come directly to Taiwan to participate in the show.

As soon as ICC Tainan is completed, it becomes a Metaverse and 5G technology demonstration venue. In the future, it will continue to develop various 5G MICE technology experience services, with sustainable operation value, and explore international trade development opportunities for small and medium enterprises to realize the core concept of ICC Tainan: “Island of Trading, Glorious Tainan.”

ICC Tainan is located at the mid-point of business commuting from the north to the south of Taiwan and near the MITSUI OUTLET PARK of the HSR Tainan Station, meeting the needs of the exhibition, conference, and business travel destinations. Occupying 5.2 hectares of land, the 10,692-square-meter booth area on the first floor can accommodate 600 standard booths and up to 5,000 people in a column-free indoor exhibition space, including one conference room for 800 people, one conference room for 1,000 people, five conference rooms for 100 people, and three conference rooms for 20 people. It is perfect for holding various exhibitions, concerts, award ceremonies, year-end parties, results presentations, and other large-scale events.

Lighting Up Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Green Museumbrary

The 2024 Central Taiwan Lantern Festival will kick off at Taichung Central Park on February 16. In celebration of the Lantern Festival, Director Chen Da-Tian of the Taichung City Government's Construction Bureau will illuminate the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Green Museumbrary. The unique appearance of these two buildings will be clearly visible both during the day and at night. As visitors play sports, take walks, or admire the lanterns at Central Park, they can also take in the view of the future landmark of Taichung from afar, take photos, and share them with friends and family.Director Chen explained that the spotlights on the eaves of the exhibition hall at the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center accentuate the architectural roof trusses and skyline. From the 76-meter-tall giant dragon main lantern area, visitors can admire the beauty of the exhibition center's magic carpet roof at night. As for the Green Museumbrary, the museum lobby adjacent to the park and the interior lights of the glass curtain wall at the administrative building facing Zhongke Road will also be illuminated, presenting visual transparency and the elegant artistic ambiance of the architecture.According to the Construction Bureau, the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center will be able to house 2,360 exhibition booths and a large international conference hall with 2,200 seats. International exhibitions and conferences held at the exhibition center will drive the development of the software, science, and industrial parks in central Taiwan. This will attract domestic and foreign companies to settle there, contributing to Taichung City Government's vision of "Prosperous Taichung, Wonderful Life". On the other hand, the Green Museumbrary, in addition to its distinctive architectural appearance, features the design principles of "innovation, people-oriented, and sharing". The museum and library both adopted co-constructed architecture, integrating various spaces within the buildings to stimulate visitor curiosity for knowledge exploration. The two buildings are independent yet interconnected in terms of shared resources. The Green Museumbrary's world-class architecture aims to inspire artistic readership and cultural dreams of Taichung's citizens.Source: Yahoo News https://tw.news.yahoo.com/%E5%8F%B0%E4%B8%AD%E5%9C%8B%E9%9A%9B%E6%9C%83%E5%B1%95%E4%B8%AD%E5%BF%83-%E7%B6%A0%E7%BE%8E%E5%9C%96%E9%BD%8A%E9%BB%9E%E7%87%88-102644411.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAACoGFpB2Nxncu5iypuwsgLM-hvRSKcXiYpIfcFtGC64p4PE0jnFQbEyWgoDRzMqUXlPGAY4yS5O7hoOsaYJ2p9GWOepQKj0myM89hTQyWT2RbCsg5tH8NBRNDdR-96VVLBq-byUevxt7nyGWUIe5pspwXhp_iV9XpFbdzQX8Rk_K
