2022/05/20

2022 MDRT DAY TAIWAN", the world's leading event for life insurance practitioners. Held for the first time in the southern part of the country at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Hall for two days, inviting more than 80 elite lecturers from home and abroad to give lectures, and attracting more than 5,000 practitioners to attend professional courses and sightseeing tours, it will bring more than 10 million business opportunities to Kaohsiung.

The Kaohsiung City Government Department of Economic Development established the MICE Office in 2013. To actively strive for large MICE events to be held in Kaohsiung, the office provides professional services such as "MICE incentives," "MICE event planning suggestions," "MICE special venue survey," and "assistance in bidding for international conferences" to event organizers. "The "2022 MDRT DAY TAIWAN" is one of the activities assisted by the Kaohsiung MICE Office.

MDRT DAY TAIWAN is the most critical event in the financial and insurance industry every year, and the participants are all top talents in the industry. This year's event was moved to Kaohsiung for the first time because of the space demand, and the use of the Kaohsiung Exhibition Hall facilities enabled a synchronized online and offline MICE event with zero delays.

The Department of Economic Development not only set up the MICE office to actively fight for large-scale MICE events but also collaborate with the central government to build the "Asia Taiwan 5G AIoT Innovation Park" and promote the "Cultural Technology 5G Project," says Department of Economic Development spokesman, Norman Tai-Hsiang Liao.

The Kaohsiung Exhibition Hall, where MDRT DAY TAIWAN is held, is an essential 5G intelligent MICE trial site. 5G will be introduced into the floating projection, with full-HD free-angle video and audio recording, real-time XR production and broadcasting, MICE dynamic data acquisition, AI multilingual translation, and other exhibition technology applications, showcasing cross-industry integration of innovative application services. We will use Online to offline (O2O) to greatly enhance the industry's competitiveness and create new business opportunities for the 5G intelligent exhibition. To support pandemic prevention, the Kaohsiung City Government will follow the pandemic prevention regulations of the CEC, and assist the organizers in planning the pre-conference pandemic prevention plan, supervise the implementation during the conference, and pay close attention to the pandemic information reported to the participants after the meeting.

The Kaohsiung MICE Office points out that the MICE Office has set up a 24-hour single service hotline. The "2022 MDRT DAY TAIWAN" not only helps with venues, transportation, and accommodation needs, but also provides professional volunteers for support and invites KAOHSIUNG GOODS, ZOU GRANDFATHER, ForCean, TAIWAN Soya-mixed meat Museum, YU-HO BEEF SCHOOL, NKUST, Welwelcashews, Green Marsh Brewery, STERN, 1300 Fine Porcelain, Taiwan Kaohsiung Art Shanlin Gourd, and other merchandise vendors. Eleven local companies will be present at the event to showcase their products, expected to promote Kaohsiung MICE, tourism, and brand image through the large-scale international event.

Lighting Up Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Green Museumbrary

The 2024 Central Taiwan Lantern Festival will kick off at Taichung Central Park on February 16. In celebration of the Lantern Festival, Director Chen Da-Tian of the Taichung City Government's Construction Bureau will illuminate the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Green Museumbrary. The unique appearance of these two buildings will be clearly visible both during the day and at night. As visitors play sports, take walks, or admire the lanterns at Central Park, they can also take in the view of the future landmark of Taichung from afar, take photos, and share them with friends and family.Director Chen explained that the spotlights on the eaves of the exhibition hall at the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center accentuate the architectural roof trusses and skyline. From the 76-meter-tall giant dragon main lantern area, visitors can admire the beauty of the exhibition center's magic carpet roof at night. As for the Green Museumbrary, the museum lobby adjacent to the park and the interior lights of the glass curtain wall at the administrative building facing Zhongke Road will also be illuminated, presenting visual transparency and the elegant artistic ambiance of the architecture.According to the Construction Bureau, the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center will be able to house 2,360 exhibition booths and a large international conference hall with 2,200 seats. International exhibitions and conferences held at the exhibition center will drive the development of the software, science, and industrial parks in central Taiwan. This will attract domestic and foreign companies to settle there, contributing to Taichung City Government's vision of "Prosperous Taichung, Wonderful Life". On the other hand, the Green Museumbrary, in addition to its distinctive architectural appearance, features the design principles of "innovation, people-oriented, and sharing". The museum and library both adopted co-constructed architecture, integrating various spaces within the buildings to stimulate visitor curiosity for knowledge exploration. The two buildings are independent yet interconnected in terms of shared resources.
