Taipei International Convention Center Earns GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation

The Taipei International Convention Center recently obtained the GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation. GBAC is a division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association that introduced the latest hygiene standards certification for responding to biohazard crisis in facilities such as airports, train stations, hotels, public places, and exhibition halls following the global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, around 1,700 GBAC STAR™ accreditations have been issued worldwide. This accreditation signifies Taipei International Convention Center's commitment to elevating and meeting the high standards of international health and safety control, providing a secure and high-quality conference venue. The TICC is the first conference venue in Taiwan that has achieved GBAC STAR™ certification. Other venues in Taiwan that have obtained this accreditation include the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center and the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

TITA leads digital transformation of the MICE industry and achieves fruitful results

To promote digital transformation of the MICE industry, the International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has promoted the "EXPO-TECH Digital Exhibition Pilot Project" and conducted demonstrations at the Taiwan Hardware Show and Kaohsiung Food Show in October this year. By demonstrating a variety of digital exhibition solutions, it has helped professional exhibition organizers (PEO) move towards digitalization and green transformation.This year, TITA has expanded its cooperation with domestic technological companies by introducing new forms of digital exhibition technology to events, which has provided participants with a new exhibition experience. For example, utilizing low-carbon and low-power full color e-paper technology to create an "Energy-efficient Digital Poster", and implementing reusable "electronic identification cards" and "digital exhibit tags" to foster green exhibition transformation.In addition, through the "XR Interactive Experience Zone" at the Kaohsiung Food Show, visitors were able to appreciate the sustainable management philosophy of the Kaohsiung Yungan Fishermen's Association from the production site to the table, which gained high recognition from partners. These 2 exhibitions presented 6 exhibition technologies that achieved fruitful results and induced many MICE industry PEOs to anticipate more business opportunities in the future.

MEET TAIWAN Festival Unveils to Innovatively Showcase Taiwan's business event Industry

MEET TAIWAN, organized by the International Trade Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), hosted the MEET TAIWAN Festival Global Launch Event on September 7, 2023. The launch marks the start of an interconnected series of business events scheduled both domestically and overseas throughout the month of September. Nearly a hundred prominent figures from Taiwan's business event industry attended the launch event, demonstrating Taiwan's thriving business event sector prospects.One year after Taiwan reopened its border, the Festival showcased Taiwan's business event industry resilience and ingenuity, notably the return of international buyers and financial inflow during major business events. In 2023, MEET TAIWAN reshaped its brand image with the MEET TAIWAN Open Arms campaign. Mr. Chun Hsiao, economic counselor of the International Trade Administration, said during the launch, "We would like to extend our friendliness to global MICE partners and look forward to all of you coming to Taiwan to experience our excellent environment, cozy services and diverse culture."Taiwan not only welcomes everyone with open arms, it also invites foreign business people to keep an open mind, have an open imagination, and stay open to possibilities, creating infinite possibilities, together.Simon Wang, President & CEO of TAITRA, highlighted, "The MEET TAIWAN Festival celebrates business events according to business event DNA.
