Kaohsiung is southern Taiwan's most important MICE city. At night, soak in the bedazzling neon-art scenery of Love River Bay and the adjacent dynamic design of the Kaohsiung Music Center. Further south and east is Pingtung County, a wonder-filled garden of countless must-see attractions with enticing journeys for international travelers. Head to the Dapeng Bay International Leisure Zone, a breezy coastal national scenic area, for serene boating and thrilling karting fun. Or visit Eluanbi Lighthouse at the island's southernmost tip, well over a century old and boasting Asia's furthest illumination distance. If time allows, take the scenic 30-minute ferry run to Xiaoliuqiu (Little Liuqiu), a small island of raised coral offering sea turtle sightings, easy cave exploring, and captivating eroded-rock formations such as Vase Rock.
