City Exploration
Park Lane by CMP
In western Taiwan, Taichung is central Taiwan's hub, and great for in-depth exploration in all four seasons. By way of example, the National Taichung Theater, a national-level performing arts center, is a striking architectural work that invites all to come see with their eyes, listen with their ears, and interact with their bodies. Rainbow Village is a military dependents village where fantastically colorful street art fills up the lanes and alleys, like entering a fairytale world. Another rewarding experience is Park Lane by CMP, an area where a transformed parking tower is now an urban garden where modernity and nature coexist.

Natural Ecology
Gaomei Wetland
The city is blessed with tourist-accessible nature, such as the seaside Gaomei Wetland, where tourists can walk far out on the mud flats and enjoy glowing sunsets. In the high-mountain Daxueshan National Forest Recreation Area, one must-see is the magnificent thousand-year-old giant Xueshan sacred tree. The Dadu River Mouth Wildlife Refuge attracts myriad waterbirds for rest and foraging; 24 protected species can be spotted. Be sure to schedule at least a full non-business day to properly experience each of these gems.

Houfeng Bikeway
To fully experience this city's appealing tourist-friendly railway history, head out from Houfeng to bike all the way along the Dongfeng Bicycle Green Way. If MICE tasks are within the city's core, a good choice is to cycle along the Taiwan Connection 1908 route on a convenient YouBike public rental for sustainable tourism. After sightseeing on two wheels, head over to the big, bustling Fengjia Night Market to discover delicious vendor treats.

Seasonal Recommendations
Taian Cherry Blossoms
Strikingly different scenes await discovery during each of the four seasons. Spring brings the Taian Cherry Blossom Season color-fest. In summer, the pastoral idyll that is the Lavender Cottage is visited by Muller's barbets, woodpeckers, owls, and fireflies. In autumn and winter, gaze at panoramas brightly painted with cosmos flowers, sunflowers, and zinnias at Houli Eco Park.

Sun Moon Lake
The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area, in Nantou County, has the poetic scenery of a landscape painting—a serene lake nestled in a basin surrounded by verdant mountains. Everywhere one turns, an inspirational new canvas of Nature's glory greets the eye. In Changhua City, the Changhua Roundhouse is home to the only train turntable in Taiwan that is still in operation, while at the Mt. Bagua Great Buddha Scenic Area there is a sweeping panorama to be seen through the eyes of the imposing 22-meter-tall, hollow Buddha statue. Whichever destination is chosen, outings can be easily and flexibly arranged according to business schedules.
